MINISTRIES & MISSIONS
Just pick your mission and get involved!
The Fretz Mission House
The Fretz Mission House was purchased in 1998 with monies donated by Mrs. Fretz of Hamburg. It exists to provide an opportunity for citizens down on their luck to get back on their feet. Specifically, occupants live rent free for 12 to 18 months. Upon entry, their pantry, medicine cabinet, and closets are already stocked, and they pay no utilities or phone bills during their stay. During their residence, they are provided whatever counseling, financial, and social services are needed to promote their eventual independence. At Christmas, the congregation ensures a present-filled holiday.
DIAPER BANK
Free diapers are available at the church to qualified families on the fourth Sunday of each month.
OTHER MINISTRIES
Sunday School
First Church offers Sunday School for all ages. The program is small but mighty! The Adult Class often has discussions on how the lessons of the Bible have meaning and guidance for us in today's world. Our children learn about the Bible stories and the older classes discuss issues of today that affect our youth. Of course, the children are always in the spotlight, especially with their singing and skits. There is drama at First Reformed - but the good kind!
Noah's Helping Hands
This group of children from toddler age to grade five meets monthly to learn, laugh, and share stories. Our goal is to help our youth grow together while learning the Word of the Lord. Check the 'Events' page to see what we're up to now! Please contact these ladies for more information:

Friday Female Follies
Friday Female Follies gathers at 6:30pm on the second Friday of each month. These ladies are known to have fun and be active. They have craft and excercise classes, play games, go out for dinner and sometimes taste wine. All church women and their friends are invited to join in the fun!
Needles & Pins Quilters
One of the newest groups at First Reformed UCC is the Needles & Pins Quilters. Martha Bertolet is the leader of the group with nearly 100 quilts under her own belt. They will quilt your tops, and sometimes make tops, for a fee as a fundraiser for the church. They have fun, too, when shopping for fabric, "doing lunch", or attending quilt shows. The finished quilts are raffled at the Christmas Bazaar. Join them from 9:00 to 11:00am on Wednesdays.
Bible Study
Join us at one of our Bible Study sessions. Contemporary books with topics that cover situations or events that we face in life, as well as the books of the Bible, are read and discussed as they relate to today's world. Bible Study sessions are held on Mondays at 9:00am and Thursdays at 6:30pm.
